Institutional Secretariat & Direct Communication

Mémoire et Patrimoine Chaunois maintains regular opening hours for public consultation, document donation drop-offs, and civic volunteer inquiries. As an entirely volunteer-operated non-profit institution, we kindly advise scheduling historical consultations in advance so that our curators can prepare relevant archival files.

Access Guide & Transport Directions

Our headquarters are centrally located in Chauny, within comfortable walking distance of public transport hubs and municipal amenities:

  • By Rail (SNCF): Chauny Train Station (Gare de Chauny) is served by frequent direct TER trains on the Paris Gare du Nord – Saint-Quentin – Compiègne and Amiens corridors. From the station, follow Rue de la Paix northward for approximately 500 meters (a 6-minute gentle walk) to Rue du Général Leclerc.
  • By Road: Easily accessible via the D1032 expressway (connecting Noyon and Saint-Quentin) and the D937. Free municipal parking is located directly adjacent at the Place du Marché Couvert (2-minute walk).
  • Universal Accessibility: Our ground-floor consultation room features level access and wide doorways compliant with French accessibility standards (PMR).
